My son, Kade, who is now twenty years old, wrote the following poem when he was eleven. It was one of several he submitted as part of a 6th grade Language Arts assignment. I feel I should share it with you today.

Sadness is blue like a cloud full of rain, and rain falls as tears.
A stream stripping through the land is like water in the tear gland.
A river wants to enter the ocean as the water wants to come out.
The eye is a cloud ready to pour out tears like falling rain.
Sadness is a feeling sky having only two clouds full of rain.
Emotions are an intricate part of our humanity, and seasons of sadness are as normal as seasons of joy.
Maybe a cloud of sadness has settled over you, and you're struggling with overcoming it. Be encouraged. Just as the rain moves in, settles for a moment, then passes on its way, this, too, shall pass for you.
Remember, the God of all comfort is as close as the mention of His name. And His strength can be made perfect in your weakness if you'll rely on Him.
