The Making of Silver

I'm not very knowledgeable about the making of silver. I know, however, that it involves an extensive and multi-layered process. And the process produces a strong but moldable, beautiful and precious metal.
I'm not certain of the origin of the association between the 25th-year wedding anniversary and silver, but the 25-year mark is celebrated as one of 8 major marriage milestones. And according to etiquette, we are supposed to celebrate it with gifts of silver.
Today is my 25th wedding anniversary—the year of silver. Though I don't know how to make silver, and I'm not well-versed in the origins of how we should celebrate 25 years of marriage, I do know how Eugene and I made it to here.
It happened through an extensive and multi-layered process that involved our crushing, pressing, refining, and purifying. Though it hasn't always been an easy journey, it has produced something that is more than a symbol or a number. By the help of God, it has produced a strong but moldable, beautiful and precious Us. Ours is a relationship born from steadfast commitment, patient endurance, and God-focused and God-centered love.
I love you, Eugene. Happy Anniversary. It's been the best 25 years of my life. Let's go for gold!
