Life Lessons

Below is a list of some things I’ve learned.

  • God is my source.

  • When I talk to God He talks back.

  • God is present even when I am unaware of Him.

  • It’s easy to love Him.

  • God thinks about me and has a plan for my life.

  • Forgiveness is more about my relationship with God than about my relationship with the one who hurt me. The one who hurt me may never choose to live in the forgiveness I give.

  • Forgiveness does not mean I have forgotten; it means I choose to love unconditionally without revenge or vindictiveness in spite of my awareness of the wrong done to me.

  • Trouble is my friend.

  • Considering God’s perspective the world is not as big as I think it is.

  • God is taking all of the ingredients of my life and making something very good.

  • God completes what He starts.

  • There is joy in the journey.

  • The journey is more about God's continual work in me than about the destination.

  • When submitted to Him I can trust I am exactly where I am supposed to be.

  • The future is not a problem because God will be there when I get there.

  • If I love God completely I'll love myself, my neighbor, and my enemy correctly.

  • Every day has a gift.

  • It matters where I put my heart. My heart reveals my treasure, so if my heart is in the right place everything else will be right.

  • I am gifted for life gifting.

  • Quiet moments are my best moments with God.

My list may not seem very profound to you from a surface perspective, but living for and learning from God has been life altering for me. It is impossible to capture with words the depth of what these lessons have taught me, but maybe my blogs offer you a glimpse. My list is my take away from my relationship with my Creator, my Savior, and my best Friend.

I am not finished with my list because living life with God is a life-long learning process. It is my hope as I live the lessons I learn my life will reflect His story and His glory.
