A Day Away

I don't have a lot to share today, but I hope my simple thought provides a little encouragement.

The song "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" has been on my mind lately. It says:

Many things about tomorrow

I don't seem to understand

But I know who holds tomorrow

And I know who holds my hand.

Over the past three years, I've worried a lot about tomorrow. I asked the Lord a few days ago, "Where do I go from here?" He answered by having me remember.

The song above speaks volumes about my life. Though I can't see the future, and I can't figure some things out, I've had enough experiences with the Lord to know when tomorrow gets here, He'll be there. I know this because of what I remember. He's been with me all of my life, and God reminds me of this often. His reminders encourage my trust in Him when I'm walking in the dark and can't make a plan.

God owes me no explanation of Himself, yet He continuously proves His faithfulness to His word. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33-34, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself..." (ESV).

Though there is much I don't know, here is what I do know. I made a commitment a long time ago to seek His kingdom above my own, and He has brought me to today. Therefore, I'm confident tomorrow is taken care of. My life has not been trouble free, and I'm sure to face more challenges, but my hope in Him has never been put to shame.

If you're worried about tomorrow, take time to remember. Can you find God in your journey? I pray your memories of God showing up in your life give you courage to embrace whatever tomorrow may bring. Tomorrow is just a day away, and He'll be there when you get there.
